Tabitha Davis is in her first season as a member of the Rutgers University-Newark women's volleyball coaching staff.
Davis was a four-year standout for the Scarlet Raiders on the court, and she is working towards finishing her degree in Criminal Justice. The Irvington native stayed on in the Spring after completing her eligibility last fall.
Â
As a senior, Davis helped bring the Scarlet Raiders to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament for the first time since 2006. Davis was second on the team with 2.23 kills per set, putting down 219 on the season behind a .200 hitting percentage. She posted 43 total blocks which were also good for second on the Scarlet Raiders, ending her career with 439 kills in 95 matches played.
Â
Her hitting percentage increased each year she was with the program, and she demonstrated skills all over the court with 372 career digs, 134 total rejections and 32 aces.
Â
She was an eight-time Academic Achievement Award winner and twice was on the Rutgers-Newark Dean's List, working as a member of the R-N Public Safety team as well. Davis was also a Youth Leader for the Irvington Township Youth Summer Program.
