Ronald Quiroz made it interesting in the closing minutes by heading in a goal, but Ramapo held on for a 2-1 win over Rutgers-Newark on Alumni Field.

Tyler Chiara. But, the Raiders (4-2-2, NJAC 0-1-0) could get only one weak shot on goal during the closing minutes as Ramapo (6-0-1, NJAC 1-0-0) put away the victory.

Frank Vogas assisted on both Ramapo goals. He redirected a long restart kick from junior forward
Francis Carr in front of freshman forward
Rob Santaniello for an easy putaway into the left side of the goal in the 12th minute to stake the Roadrunners to an early lead.
In the 71st minute, Vogas then sent a restart kick into the left side of the box to senior midfielder
Justin Stone who headed in what proved to be the game winner.
Senior goalkeeper
Ian Tighe notched the win for Ramapo, narrowly missing his fifth shutout of the season, by making making three saves. Rutgers-Newark junior goalkeeper
Matt Zielyk also notched three saves.
The Raiders had a 13-10 edge in shots and controlled corner kicks, 6-3, in the tightly contested match.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak by the Raiders who were 4-0-1 in their previous five matches.
Rutgers-Newark travels to Montclair State on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. to take on the defending NJAC champions Montclair State.
