Stephanie Touzan tallied a career-high 18.5 points as Rutgers-Newark earned a 3-1 win over the College of Staten Island in The Golden Dome. Game scores were 25-14, 25-11, 22-25, 25-9.

Touzan collected a team-high 12 kills on .321 hitting, roped a match-high tying six aces and got in on one block as the Scarlet Raiders (6-10) won their second match in a row.
Sophomore middle blocker
Rachel Witt had 11 kills, a pair of aces and two assisted blocks to help Rutgers-Newark put five players in double figure points. Freshman outside hitter
Ula Nieznalska notched 13.0 points (9 kills, 4 aces) while coming up with a team-high 13 digs. Junior outside hitter
Toni Moppert added 11 points (7 kills, 4 aces) and senior middle blocker
Crystal Navarro chipped in 10.0 points (4 kills, 6 aces).
Freshman setter
Jen Mendoza had 40 assists to reach that plateau for the second time in her young career. The Raiders hit a season-best .291 (47 kills, 15 errors, 110 attacks) behind her passing. The team hit over .300 in all but the third game when the Dolphins took a 25-22 decision.
The Dolphins (1-9) got a match-high 15 kills from senior middle blocker Joanna Tepedino and six kills and an ace from sophomore outside hitter Kaitlin Flynn.
Rutgers-Newark plays a New Jersey Athletic Conference match at Montclair State at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
