Stephanie Touzan had 13 kills, but Rowan came away with a crucial 3-2 win in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match in Esby Gym. Games scores were 19-25, 25-20, 25-16, 21-25, 16-14.

The loss knocked the Scarlet Raiders (5-17, NJAC 2-5) out of contention for the six-team field for the NJAC Championship Tournament while Rowan (12-14, NJAC 4-2) secured the third seed. Montclair State (11-14, NJAC 3-3) downed William Paterson (15-9, NJAC 2-5) to eliminate Rutgers-Newark. WPU's win over Rutgers-Newark in September gave the Pioneers the tie-breaker and the final slot in the playoffs.

Toni Moppert tallied 10 kills for the Raiders who got 28 assists and an ace from sophomore setter

Ula Nieznalska added six kills, two aces and an assisted block for the Raiders while junior middle blocker
Rachel Witt tallied five kills, an ace, two solo blocks and two assisted blocks.

Gabi Mangieri had three aces apiece for Rutgers-Newark.
For Rowan, sophomore middle blockers Krissy Collins and Dakota Oeskovic combined for 29 points. Collins posted a match-high 14 kills while adding a pair of aces and two assisted blocks. Oeskovic totaled 10 kills. Junior setter Jamie Leishman was credited with 36 assists and an ace.
Rutgers-Newark hosts Brooklyn College and FDU-Florham in a tri-match in The Golden Dome on Saturday. The Raiders take on Brooklyn at noon to open the day.
