NEWARK, NJ – Rutgers-Newark plays at third-seeded Brooklyn College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the opening round of the ECAC Metro Championship Tournament.

The Scarlet Raiders (14-12) received the sixth seed in the 8-team bracket, joining New Jersey Athletic Conference foes Richard Stockton and New Jersey City in the playoffs.
It marks the sixth appearance in the ECAC post-season tournament in the last eight seasons for Rutgers-Newark under head coach
Joe Loughran.
The Raiders reached the championship game of the 2011 ECAC Metro playoffs, falling to Stevens, 84-71, in the title game.
Senior All-NJAC shooting guard
Pedro Burgos lead the Raiders with 79 3-point field goals and a 17.2 scoring average. The junior college transfer netted his 1,000th career point in a 55-53 loss to Kean in the opening round of the NJAC Championship Tournament.

Christian Garcia contributes 11.0 points and 5.5 rebounds a game while senior swingman
Jeremiah Rivers is pulled down 5.9 rebounds and scoring 8.1 points.
Junior point guard
Al'Don Muhammad averages 10.3 points and 5.4 assists while long-range shooting specialist
Greg Moore had knocked down 59 treys on his way to averaging 10.3 points.
The semifinal round will be played on Saturday and the championship Sunday at sites and times to be determined.
