PITMAN, N.J. — Freshman guard Raheem Murray of Rutgers–Newark has been named All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Honorable Mention, recognizing his standout debut season for the Scarlet Raiders.

Murray started 21 games for Rutgers-Newark and quickly established himself as the team's top offensive option. He averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game, leading the Scarlet Raiders in scoring while finishing ninth in the conference in points per game.

His efficiency further separated him among the league's top performers. Murray ranked seventh in the NJAC in free throw percentage (78%) and 11th in field goal percentage (41%), proving to be both reliable at the line and efficient from the floor throughout the season.

He recorded a season-high 23 points twice this year, first in just his second collegiate game against St. Elizabeth University and again in conference play versus Montclair State University, who is currently ranked No. 6 nationally.

Competing in the NJAC, Murray demonstrated poise beyond his years and established himself as one of the conference's premier freshmen. His All-NJAC Honorable Mention selection caps a strong first season and signals a bright future ahead in Newark.
