Monica Bagan notched the only hits against The College of New Jersey ace Lauren Fitzsimmons in an 11-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference loss before rain washed away the doubleheader nightcap in the fourth inning.

Lucas dumped a single into short left field to lead off the fourth inning after Fitzsimmons had retired the first nine Scarlet Raiders in order on her way to a 5-inning, 2-hit shutout. The senior righty struck out five while allowing no walks.
Bagan lifted a double to left centerfield to lead off the fifth for the other Rutgers-Newark (9-9, NJAC 0-1) hit.
Junior centerfielder Liz Huttner went three for three with three RBIs to pace the Lions' 12-hit attack.
