Kelsey Lucas tripled and scored Rutgers-Newark's lone run in the sixth inning as The College of New Jersey posted a 5-1 New Jersey Athletic Conference win on Alumni Field.

In a single game rescheduled after a Sunday rainout of the second game of a doubleheader, the Scarlet Raiders (9-12, NJAC 0-4) were on the wrong end of a second 2-hitter by Lion ace Lauren Fitzsimmons (10-2) against Rutgers-Newark in four days.

The only other Raider hit was a clean single to left center field by sophomore first baseman
Gabby Spinella to lead off the second inning.
Sophomore right-hander
Liane Drastal (4-8) settled down after yielding three runs on three hits and a walk in the first inning to cool TCNJ (15-7, NJAC 4-0). She scattered nine hits, giving up five walks and striking out one while going the distance.
Junior second baseman Ashley Sogluizzo, who went two for three and scored twice, stroked a 2-out, 2-run double to left centerfield to ignite the Lions' first inning rally.
Freshman Katherine Cipolla delivered a 2-out, 2-run pinch-hit single to right center field in the fifth to plate the other TCNJ runs as the Lions completed the regular-series set against the Raiders.
Rutgers-Newark visits New Jersey City for an NJAC doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Gerrity Athletic Complex.
