NEWARK, NJ – Junior forward
Jade Howard finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds to rally Rutgers-Newark to a 60-44 New Jersey Athletic Conference win over New Jersey City in The Golden Dome Arena.
Howard posted 17 points in the second half to match the Gothic Knights' team total as Rutgers-Newark (9-9, NJAC 5-7) bounced back after trailing by as many as eight points in the opening period. The Raiders completed a regular-season series sweep of New Jersey City (6-13, NJAC 3-9).

Jasmine Daniels notched eight points, 10 rebounds and two steals for Rutgers-Newark while sophomore guard
Arianna Williams totaled eight points, five rebounds and four assists. Junior guard
Courtney Woodard chipped in six points and a game-high five assists with freshman guard
Shala Glenn contributing seven points and two assists before fouling out of the contest.
Junior guard Jade Medley netted nine of her team-high 11 points in the opening half as NJCU battled for a 27-21 lead at the break behind 14 offensive rebounds. She added six rebounds while junior point guard Ashley Vazquez posted a double-double with 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Kiana Briggs came up with eight points and a pair of steals for the Gothic Knights while sophomore forward Deseree Johnson tallied six points, five rebounds and a team-high three assists.
After Medley hit a layup to give NJCU a 32-26 second-half lead, Glenn netted all seven of her points to key a decisive 15-0 Raider run which staked Rutgers-Newark to a 41-32 lead with 10:24 left. The Gothic Knights did not threaten again as the Raiders pulled away to the final 16-point margin.
