GALLOWAY, NJ – Rutgers-Newark's shooting matched the weather as Richard Stockton posted a 52-45 New Jersey Athletic Conference win in the RSC Athletic Center.

Junior guard Courtney Woodard came off the bench to lead the Scarlet Raiders with 11 points while ShaQuanna Marshall added 10 points, but Rutgers-Newark (6-4, NJAC 2-2) made just one free throw in eight tries and connected on just four of 17 3-point jumpers to register its lowest point total of the season on a day when the temperature started out near zero.

Marshall pulled down seven rebounds and added game highs of six assists and four steals while freshman guard Jamie Cejour-Mobley knocked down two of four shots from beyond the arc to finish with eight points.  Junior forward Jade Howard was limited to six points and three rebounds while senior forward Jasmine Daniels chipped in seven rebounds and two points.  Rookie guard Shala Glenn garnered seven rebounds with four points.

Senior forward Lauren Alwan posted game highs of 20 points and a dozen rebounds for Stockton while junior guard Alex Nardoza hit eight of 12 shots from the floor on her way to 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Starters scored all of Stockton's points, but the Ospreys (4-6, NJAC 2-3) turned 26 Raider turnovers into 19 points to spell the difference in the contest.

Nardoza drove for a layup as Stockton matched its biggest lead of the game with 5:45 left, but Rutgers-Newark would not go quietly.

Marshall hit a jumper and trey to net five points during a 12-4 Raider run capped by a Cejour-Mobley 3-point jumper with a minute remaining to reduce the Ospreys' lead to 50-45.  A jumper by Nardoza with 40 ticks left finished the scoring with the Raiders managing only a 3-point attempt by Marshall over the final seconds.

In the seesaw first half, the Ospreys used a 20-4 run to erase a 7-point deficit in the final seven minutes.  Alwan netted eight of her 12 first-half points during the rally, including the final four, as Stockton took a 30-21 lead 27 seconds left.  A 3-point jumper by Cejour-Mobley with six seconds remaining made it 30-24 at the break.

A Cesar-Mobley jumper with 7:08 on the clock in the first half gave the Raiders a 17-10 lead and Rutgers-Newark appeared to be in control of the game.  But two fouls each on Howard, Daniels and Marshall sent the starters to the bench for key stretches during the Ospreys' run.

The loss snapped a 3-game winning streak for the Raiders while Stockton won its second straight decision.

Rutgers-Newark visits Rutgers-Camden for an NJAC doubleheader on Monday.  The women tip off at 1 p.m. with the men to follow at 3.
