NEWARK, NJ – Ramapo scored five points in the final five seconds to stun Rutgers-Newark, 65-64, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game in The Golden Dome Arena.

The Scarlet Raiders (7-5, NJAC 3-3) looked to be in total control when sophomore guard Arianna Williams dropped in a pair of free throws with 11 seconds left to make it 64-60.

But Ramapo (5-6, NJAC 3-3) pushed the ball up the floor to junior guard Jackie Jerkovich who drained a 3-point jumper from the left side with 4.6 seconds on the clock.  When Rutgers-Newark botched the inbounds play with 2.6 seconds left, it set the Roadrunners up under their own basket.

Jerkovich found junior guard Kelly Haspel on the left side of the lane for the game-winning layup which left the Raiders just two tenths of a seconds to respond.  There was no final shot after Rutgers-Newark inbounded into the backcourt.

Junior forward Jade Howard notched her sixth double-double with 14 points, a season-high 17 rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals, but foul trouble helped Ramapo overcome a 14-point second half deficit.

Raider senior guard ShaQuanna Marshall netted a game-high 15 points while adding five rebounds, four assists and three steals.  Williams finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists while senior forward Jasmine Daniels totaled eight points with two assists and two steals.

Haspel led the Roadrunners with 14 points while Jerkovich tallied a dozen points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.   Ramapo also got 10 points and a pair of assists from senior guard Alayna Donadio.

Rutgers-Newark visits The College of New Jersey for an NJAC doubleheader on Saturday.  The women's game tips off at 1 p.m. with the men to follow at 3.
