Box Score JERSEY CITY, NJ – Rutgers University-Newark ran its winning streak to 11 with a 4-1 win over New Jersey City at the Gerrity Athletic Complex.
The Scarlet Raiders (11-2-0, NJAC 4-0-0) stayed perfect since August as sophomore forward
Dylan Elias picked up assists on the first two goals and the Gothic Knights (1-9-3, NJAC 0-4-0) where throttled by the Rutgers-Newark defense until the final minutes.
Senior defender
Pat Holliday one-timed a corner kick from the right side by Elias inside the left post just two minutes and five seconds into the fray.
Elias sent a cross back into the box from near the right endline 28 minutes into the match that sophomore midfielder
Hubert Dul punched into the right side for his third goal of the season. It proved to be the game winner.
The Raiders pushed their halftime lead to three when sophomore forward
Charlie O'Connell headed in a cross into the 18 from the left side by freshman forward
Chigozie Atubi in the 37th minute. It was O'Connell's ninth goal of the season.
After NJCU freshman back Mohamed Elamin headed in a corner kick from junior midfielder Christopher Segovia in the 84th minute, Raider sophomore midfielder
Tyler Nowak one-timed a cross from the left side by freshman forward
Alex Torres from the right side of the box inside the far post with just 3:17 left.

Matt Broomall (10-2-0) made a save in each half to post the win while the Gothic Knights' Tyler Krychkowski (1-9-3) came up with 13 saves.
Rutgers-Newark piled up a 25-13 advantage in shots while gaining an 8-6 edge in corner kicks.
During their winning streak, the Raiders have outscored their opponents 34-6 with five shutouts while allowing just one goal in each of the other six matches. After losing to Covenant College and Emory University in Atlanta in August, Rutgers-Newark has gone unbeaten.
Rutgers-Newark hosts FDU-Florham in a non-conference match on Alumni Field at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
