NEWARK, N.J. (March 30, 2016) – The Rutgers University-Newark softball doubleheader at Hunter College on Thursday, March 31 has been canceled.
 
Rutgers-Newark is currently 8-8 on the season and returns to the diamond April 2 with two games at Rutgers University-Camden. It will be the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opener for the both the Scarlet Raiders and Scarlet Raptors.
 
After starting the season 1-6, Rutgers-Newark was won seven of its last nine games to get back to .500 ahead of its conference opener on Saturday.
