NEWARK, N.J. (April 29, 2016) - The Rutgers University-Newark softball doubleheader at Wilkes University has been canceled and the Scarlet Raiders will now be heading to Connecticut to take on Albertus Magnus University in non-conference action at 3 and 5 p.m.

Heavy rain on Thursday in Pa. caused Rutgers-Newark to look for another doubleheader.

Live links are posted at www.rutgersnewarkathletics.com for Friday's games, and on Saturday, the Scarlet Raiders will host Rowan University in their regular-season finale. Prior to Saturday's doubleheader, Rutgers-Newark will honor senior Kelsey Lucas as part of its annual Senior Day ceremony.


NEWARK, N.J. (April 28, 2016) - The non-conference softball doubleheader between Rutgers University-Newark and Wilkes University scheduled for Thursday evening, April 28, has been pushed back a day to Friday, April 29. The opener is now slated for a 3 p.m. start in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The Scarlet Raiders area coming off a sweep of New Jersey City University on Wednesday afternoon, improving to 18-18 overall and 6-10 in the conference. The Scarlet Raiders have the two games at Wilkes and a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) pair on Alumni Field against Rowan University remaining on the '16 slate.

Prior to the opening game against the Profs, Rutgers-Newark will honor senior captain Kelsey Lucas as part of its annual Senior Day ceremony.
