Karolina Kopacz of the Rutgers University-Newark women's volleyball team was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week, it was announced Monday night.

Kopacz picks up the team's first honor of 2016 and first since now-sophomore
Jess Moy earned back-to-back NJAC Rookie of the Week nods at the end of last season.

Kopacz has been a major reason for the Scarlet Raiders' 4-2 start to the season and will lead Rutgers-Newark as it looks for its first league win of the season Tuesday night against New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival New Jersey City University.

The Rutherford, N.J. native did it all for R-N last week, averaging 4.9 assists, 3.5 kills and 3.0 digs per set while hitting .284. She posted a trip-double of 15 kills, 24 helpers and 17 digs in a five-set loss to Rowan University, adding three blocks and three service aces to her line. She backed that up with a double-double in a non-conference win over Farmingdale State College, pocketing 13 kills and 15 assists.

Kopacz leads the conference in service aces per set (.79), and she ranks sixth in hitting percentage (.294) and ninth in kills per set (2.71). The junior now has four double-doubles and two triple-doubles in six matches.
