NEWARK, N.J. (November 21, 2017) –
The Rutgers University-Newark men's and women's basketball teams open New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play tonight in The Golden Dome, hosting rival New Jersey City University in a doubleheader.

The Scarlet Raider women get things started with a 6 p.m. start against the Gothic Knights, and R-N will be looking for a third-straight win. Rutgers-Newark topped Cedar Crest College and St. Joseph's College – Long Island this past weekend in the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic, getting All-Tournament performances from sophomore Louise Ann Borja and junior Faith Ashby.

The Scarlet Raider men will follow at 8 p.m. after two tight games in Oregon Friday and Saturday night. Newark opened its 2017-18 season with a thrilling comeback win at George Fox University Friday night, but R-N fell in a tight matchup at Lewis & Clark College Saturday. Four Scarlet Raiders are averaging double figures to start the season, with sophomore guard Chase Barneys pouring in 42 points in the first two games to lead the way.

Admission is FREE for anyone with a Rutgers-Newark ID, and fans unable to make it to The Golden Dome can tune in live at www.rutgersnewarkathletics.com/watch.
