East Announces ’17 Men’s Soccer Staff

NEWARK, N.J. (August 29, 2017) – Head Men's Soccer Coach Kevin East – the 2016 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Coach of the Year – finalized the Rutgers University-Newark coaching staff for 2017.

East welcomes Robbie Rogers, Alex Moreyra and Tony Ochrimenko back into the mix, while three new faces will work with the Scarlet Raiders in Aderson Cenoble, Jonathan Bilbao and Stan Lembryk.

A resident of Newark and a former Scarlet Raider, Aderson Cenoble joins the staff in 2017 with a great deal of experience. Cenoble spent nine years with the Benfica Soccer Academy, working with youngsters aged 7-to-17, and has spent time as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at Union High School and St. Benedict's prep.

Cenoble is currently the U17 head coach for FC Thunder, and he also spent time leading the U16 group for the AC Milan football club.

A graduate of West Orange High School, Cenoble received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers-Newark.

Bilbao is a graduate of rival New Jersey City University and knows the NJAC well. Upon graduating, he played professionally in Portugal in 2010 and 2011 and then spent the next four seasons (2011-2014) in Malta. When he returned to the United States, he played for the Ironbound Soul as a member of the American Soccer League.

He has been a youth soccer coach in Old Bridge, N.J. since 2014, and has coached at the Jersey Star Soccer School which works with low income youngsters. Bilbao has spent time working at the F.C. Barcelona Soccer Camp in Boston, also serving on his alma mater's staff in 2013.

"I am excited to have Jonathan join our staff," said East. "He played for me at NJCU and had a great collegiate career. He was recognized as one of the top midfielders in the country at that time, and after graduating he went on to play professionally. He has a wealth of experience to share with our players."

Lembryk joined the staff prior to the team's spring season and recently was on staff at Rutgers University (New Brunswick). He was a four-year letterwinner at Loyola University in Maryland, leading an excellent Greyhound program to four-straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) titles and an appearance in the 'Elite Eight' of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. He graduated with a B.A. in History, and played professionally from 1991-2000 as a member of Major League Soccer's NY/NJ MetroStars as well as several teams in the American Professional League and USISL.

Lembryk is currently a Special Education teacher at Clifton High School, and has led several high school soccer teams to league, county and state titles (Clifton High School in New Jersey, Jupiter High School in Florida).

Lembryk served as an assistant coach under legendary Tony Ochrimenko during Coach O's time leading the Kean University men's soccer program. He also is a member of the US Region I Boys staff and is a member of the PDA Girls Academy staff.

Rutgers-Newark will open its season at Nazareth College Friday and Saturday, playing in the Doug May Classic against the host Golden Flyers and Rochester Institute of Technology. The Scarlet Raiders play home for the first time Wednesday, September 6 against CCNY.
