NEWARK, N.J. (January 8, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Newark men's basketball game against Penn State University-Abington scheduled for Monday, January 8 has been canceled.
 
Snow is forecasted in the Northeast and in Pennsylvania during the afternoon and PSU-Abington will be closing its campus at 12 p.m.
 
Since the game is a non-conference contest, the two schools have decided to cancel the game rather than look for a makeup date.
 
Rutgers-Newark will look to get back in the win column Wednesday night when it visits New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival The College of New Jersey.
