NJAC Standings
PITMAN, N.J. (April 23, 2018) – Senior
Kelly Yusko was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon by the league office.
Yusko and the Scarlet Raiders went 3-1 in four key NJAC games last week, splitting at nationally-ranked Kean University and sweeping New Jersey City University on the road. Rutgers-Newark is now 20-11 overall and 6-6 in the NJAC with six conference contests remaining.
Yusko had a marvelous week for Rutgers-Newark, going 10-for-15 at the plate, and earning two wins and a save in the circle
Yusko had multiple his in every game the team played, going 6-for-8 in the doubleheader sweep at NJCU and 4-for-7 in the split with Kean. Yusko added one walk and one intentional walk to finish the week with a .667 batting average, a .688 on-base percentage and a ridiculous .800 slugging percentage. She had two doubles, five RBI and four runs scored.
She pitched to a sterling 1.31 earned-run average in 16 innings, picking up a win at Kean and a win and a save versus the Gothic Knights.
