NEWARK, N.J. (September 24, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Newark women's soccer team will host Ramapo College in a key New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Frederick Douglass Field Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Admission is FREE for all R-N student, staff and faculty with a valid ID.

The Scarlet Raiders will be looking for their first league triumph of the year after falling in a pair of tough NJAC matches last week (vs No. 4 TCNJ, at Stockton). Newark will bring an overall record of 4-4-1 into Wednesday's game (0-2-0 NJAC), while the Roadrunners will come to the Brick City at 2-6-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the NJAC. Ramapo dropped a 4-0 decision to The College of New Jersey Saturday, but defeated New Jersey City University in its conference opener.

R-N currently boasts a plus-12 goal differential (28-16) and the Raiders are averaging 3.11 goals per game. Leading the offense has been all-conference performer Juliana Ceballos. The senior midfielder paces the Raiders in goals (seven) and points (18), and has at least one point in five of her last six appearances. Sophomore midfielder Ana Silveira has tallied six times, while freshman Maria Miranda has four goals and one assist. Junior Shayna Bohus has handed out a team-high five assists as 12 different Scarlet Raiders have two points or more this year.

Returners Heidi Paulson and Jasmin Erichsen have been splitting time in goal so far for Rutgers-Newark. Paulson has a team-high 27 saves and a 2.27 goals-against average, and Erichsen has made 26 stops with a 1.42 goals-against average.

In the NJAC, Rutgers-Newark ranks first in the league in saves per game and total assists, sitting second in assists per game, points per game, scoring offense, total goals and total points. Bohus leads the entire NJAC and is 25th in the nation in assists with five, with Ceballos checking in at No. 4 in the league in assists and total goals. The Rutgers-Newark senior is third in total points and points per game.

Ramapo's Liliann Vizcaino is tied atop the conference ranks in assists with Bohus, while goalkeeper Elizabeth Harvell is No. 4 in the NJAC in saves per game and total denials. Vizcaino leads the Roadrunners with nine points as a total of 10 Roadrunners have at least two points this year.

Last year, Ramapo was able to clip the Scarlet Raiders in Mahwah by a 1-0 final and over the last four seasons the two teams have each won twice.
