NEWARK, N.J. | Rutgers University-Newark's Athletic Department has announced that the Golden Dome Athletic Center (GDAC) will re-open Thursday, October 1, 2020, for all current students with an active Rutgers ID and a facial covering. 

As of Thursday, October 1, 2020, the GDAC is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through reservation only along with a valid Rutgers ID. Frederick Douglass Field will remain open as it has since September 2, 2020, also from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can find the online reservation form here to sign up for the fitness center or basketball courts. 

The fitness center will have a capacity of 20 people per hour with strict social distancing guidelines in place. We will still continue to monitor the pandemic conditions as well as state guidelines closely to maintain safe conditions in the GDAC as well on the Rutgers University-Newark campus.
