Junior Michael Streim is a catcher for the baseball team from Dumont, NJ, who was supposed to be headed into his junior year as a Scarlet Raider. However, the season has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Last season, Streim was hitting a red-hot .450 before the season was halted due to COVID-19. He appeared and started in seven games and had 10 total bases with three successful steals. 

Q: Why did you choose Rutgers University-Newark?

MS: I chose Rutgers University-Newark because of their incredible criminal justice program and so I could continue my baseball career. 

Q: What are some of your hobbies?

MS: Being an athlete, I just love watching sports no matter the game, if there's something on TV you'll find me watching it. When I'm not watching TV I'm a firefighter.

Q: What are some of your favorite things?

MS: Well, Derek Jeter is my favorite athlete and my favorite movie has to be Ladder 49.

Q: Lastly, what do you want your coaches and teammates to remember you for once you've graduated?

MS: Once I graduate I want my coaches and my teammates to remember me as the guy who would do anything for his team to be successful, and that I'll always be there for my teammates.
