NEWARK, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark Athletic Department has announced a schedule update for usages of the Golden Dome Athletic Center as well as Frederick Douglass Field for the month of September. 

As of September 2, 2020, the Golden Dome Athletic Center is open Monday through Friday for appointments only at this time, while Frederick Douglass Field is open with a valid Rutgers ID. Both the Golden Dome Athletic Center and Frederick Douglass Field will have staff members located at their entrances from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

While Frederick Douglass Field is open, Monday through Friday, a strict social distance policy is in place to ensure the safety of everyone in the area. No organized games are allowed and you must keep six feet between you and the other person while wearing your facial covering. We continue to monitor the pandemic conditions as well as state guidelines closely and will assess our ability to open, albeit at a limited capacity, in the upcoming weeks.
