#RUNMBB Falls To Stevens On The Road, 60-51

HOBOKEN, NJ | Abe Kromah and BJ Honis scored 15 points apiece as the Rutgers University-Newark Scarlet Raiders dropped a non-conference contest to Stevens this afternoon, 60-51.

Rutgers-Newark (4-2) had their two-game win streak come to a close after shooting just 31.8% from the floor. Dante Ralph just missed out on a double-double, scoring 9 points and leading the team with 13 rebounds. Stevens (2-3) was led by Jack Spellman who scored 22 points in the win. The Ducks found success from range, shooting 50% (10-20) from behind the arc.

The Scarlet Raiders found themselves in a hole early on after the Ducks jumped out to an 11-4 lead. Rutgers-Newark was able to hold the Ducks within reach for a majority of the first half and made a 9-2 run to end the half and head into the locker room down just one point.

Stevens came out of the half and within 9 minutes pushed their lead out to double digits. The Ducks held onto that lead until the Scarlet Raiders made a late push as time was expiring. With 28 seconds to play, the Scarlet Raiders cut the lead down to five to give themselves a chance at a comeback, however, they ran out of time on the road as Stevens would seal the win.
