Red-Hot Shooting Helps Scarlet Raiders Complete Sweep of Rutgers-Camden, 73-42

CAMDEN, NJ | Abe Kromah scored a season-high 15 points to help the Scarlet Raiders complete the sweep of Rutgers University-Camden this afternoon, 73-42.

Kromah rebounded well from an off night of shooting in the previous contest, shooting 6-of-8 from the floor and going 1-for-1 from behind the arc. Also shooting well from the floor was Mike Vick who went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field. Skerling Reynoso got in on the scoring action this afternoon and tallied a career-high 9 points while Quincy Rutherford added 13. Hassan Farhat pulled down a career-high six rebounds which also led the team.

Gavin Henry paced the Scarlet Raptors with 15 points while Tyree Mann-Barnes added 11 and tied for the team lead with six rebounds.

Rutgers University-Newark (2-0, 2-0 NJAC) picked up right where they left off last night and took a 13-point lead, 13-3, six minutes into the first half. After losing their double-digit lead the Scarlet Raiders rallied and Rutherford banked one off of the glass to put them back up by 10. Rutgers-Newark held on to their double-digit lead for the remainder of the game as their defense once again stifled any Scarlet Raptor opportunities.

Rutgers University-Camden (0-2, 0-2 NJAC) struggled to find their early success from last night in this afternoon's game and were unable to gain any momentum on their home court. As a team, the Scarlet Raptors shot just 37.8% from the field and 22.2% from three-point range.

Turnovers were the name of the game this afternoon as the Scarlet Raiders were able to force 25 of them. The Scarlet Raiders used that to turn in a 60.4% team shooting day while outscoring the Scarlet Raptors 36-16 in the painted area.

The Scarlet Raiders return to action Friday, Feb. 12 at 5:00 p.m. when they travel to Wayne, NJ for a bout with William Paterson University.
