Horton Earns First NJAC Honorable Mention Award

PITMAN, NJ | The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its 2021 women's basketball all-conference squad and the Rutgers University-Newark women's basketball squad picked up one honor. Samiyah Horton picked up her first NJAC Honorable Mention award of her career.

Horton paced the Scarlet Raiders with a career-high 16.1 points as well as 33.4 minutes per game. Her shooting from the floor was a team-best 39.6% while she finished second on the team from behind the arc, shooting 39%. Horton was also active on defense, securing 5.3 rebounds per game, good for second-best on the squad.

Horton started her season off with a career-high 22 points then the very next day followed that up with 19, her two best outings of the season, to earn MBWA Division II/III Honorable Mention of the Week.

She will look to build on what she started this season when she steps on the court for her junior campaign next season.
