Catania's Brace Salvages Draw Against Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, NJ | Franco Catania's second half brace help salvage a 3-3 draw against New Jersey Athletic Conference foes, Rutgers-Camden. The draw moves the Scarlet Raiders to 6-5-4, 3-1-2 while the Scarlet Raptors moved to 6-7-4, 3-2-1. 

Jake Milne opened the scoring for the Scarlet Raiders in the first 11 minutes of this afternoon's NJAC clash. Brandon Castro set in a cross where Milne was able to head it into the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. Shortly after, Rutgers-Camden would level the playing field with a goal of their own. The Scarlet Raptors gained momentum after tying the game up and scored another pair in a three minute span in the the 20th and 23rd minute. 

Rutgers-Newark took 10 shots in the first half and saw just one tally for their work while Rutgers-Camden took four shots and found the back of the net three times. 

The Scarlet Raiders wouldn't remain behind for long into the second half. Catania scored five minutes into the second half off of a pass from Eduardo Ribeiro. Ribeiro sent in a pass that allowed Catania to redirect it into the left side of the goal to bring his team within one. Catania struck again in the 69th minute when Marlon Rodriguez found him open along the left flank. Like he's done often this season, Catania hit a long curling shot into the right upper corner to even the game up at three. Rutgers-Newark tried to keep the ball rolling and jump ahead, but they were unable to find the go-ahead goal to secure three points in this afternoon's NJAC matchup.
