#RUNWVB Falls to Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark women's volleyball squad dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) to Rutgers-Camden, 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-22). The loss drops the Scarlet Raiders to 0-11, 0-4 while Rutgers-Camden improved to 7-8, 3-2.

In the opening set, the Scarlet Raptors jumped out to a 5-1 lead, however, Rutgers-Newark battled back to knot the set up at five thanks to an Alexa Rivera kill. Rutgers-Camden wouldn't be held down long as they grabbed hold of the lead and took that to a 1-0 lead in the match.

The second set was more of the same as Rutgers-Camden took the lead and held on until the end. Newcomer Alexis Jones brought the Scarlet Raiders within seven, but that wasn't enough to spark the Rutgers-Newark offense.

Rutgers-Newark had their best set of the night, and tallied 9 kills. Kaiel Maynor led the Scarlet Raiders on the night with seven kills. Rutgers-Newark had a two-point lead before an 8-3 run by Rutgers-Camden to close out the match.
