Balanced Scoring Leads #RUNWBB to Highest Tally Since 2010

NEWARK, NJ | Syncere Lambert and the Scarlet Raiders put up their highest point total since 2010 when they bested Rosemont College 92-54 on the second day of the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic. With the win, the Scarlet Raiders improved to 2-0 while Rosemont dropped to 0-2.

Rutgers-Newark opened with a 19-9 edge after the first quarter of play. After trailing by a pair, Elisha India Cross put the Scarlet Raiders in the lead with a 3-point shot, 10-9. With that shot, Rutgers-Newark went on a 12-0 run to end the quarter with momentum on their side. In the second quarter, the Scarlet Raiders kept it going as Lambert went 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Rosemont, however, began to gain steam and chipped away at Rutgers-Newark's double-digit lead until they found themselves down seven with the halftime on the horizon.

Once the page turned into the third quarter, the Scarlet Raiders held Rosemont to just 13 points. After seeing their double-digit lead disappear, Rutgers-Newark regained control and saw their lead balloon out to 20 by the end of the third quarter off of a 3-point basket from Lambert. Sanaa Brodie was electric to start the final quarter of play, scoring 10 points in three minutes. Behind Brodie the Scarlet Raiders would go on to score their highest quarter of the game with 27 points.
