#RUNMSOC Cruises Past CCNY, 7-0

NEWARK, NJ | The Scarlet Raiders took down CCNY this evening, 7-0, in a rescheduled game from earlier in the year. The win boosts the Scarlet Raiders to 8-6-6 while CCNY dropped to 3-12-1. 

The Scarlet Raiders found the back of the net early on against the Beavers. Jake Milne slid a pass through the CCNY's defensive line and found the foot of Esteban Hidalgo. Hidalgo hit a low shot into the left net to put Rutgers-Newark up 1-0 at Frederick Douglass Field. Aslan Kat doubled the Scarlet Raiders' tally before the half. Kat made a nice move to break free in the box but had his first shot blocked. He kept with the play and picked up the loose ball and hit the opposite net for his second tally of the season. 

Rutgers-Newark continued to build their lead in the second half when Milne scored his second of the season off of a pass from George Olynyk. Olynyk sent in a low cross into the box where Milne redirected the pass into the back of the net. Shortly after, Mathis Quesada scored his first career goal to put the Scarlet Raiders up 4-0. Quesada uncorked an impressive curler from 23 yards out and put it where the keeper was unable to reach. Milne's career evening wasn't over as he would pick up another assist when he crossed the ball to Eduardo Ribeiro who found his first career tally. Ribeiro would double up eight minutes later before Hidalgo did the same.

The Scarlet Raiders will now prepare for the ECAC Tournament which will be announced on Monday, November 7 after the NCAA Selection Show.
