Box Score NEW YORK, NY | The Rutgers University-Newark women's basketball team suffered their 5th straight loss this evening after falling 92-69 to non-conference foes, John Jay College. The Scarlet Raiders and Bloodhounds battled from the opening tip as they traded points all the way until the end of the first quarter. After more back and forth in the early goings of the second quarter that saw the Scarlet Raiders go in front 37-36 behind a layup from Elisha India Cross. The Scarlet Raiders' offense stalled and allowed John Jay to finish the half on a 10-2 run. The Bloodhounds would take that momentum and a 9-point into the locker room.

Rutgers-Newark's scoring woes carried over to the third quarter as they finally broke their 10 minute scoring drought on a three-point basket from Lambert. That basket cut the lead down to 22 which ignited a fire in the Scarlet Raiders as they would go on to finish the stanza on a 12-4 run. In the final stanza, it seemed the Scarlet Raiders were primed to for a comeback, however, the Bloodhounds regained their form and tallied their highest marker of the game, 26 points, to close the door on any comeback attempt by the Scarlet Raiders.
