Catania Scores as FC Motown Wins NPSL National Championship

NEWARK, NJ | Franco Catania netted a goal and tallied an assist as FC Motown won the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), 4-3, over Crossfire Redmond on Saturday, August 6.

Catania, one of the youngest members of the team, gave his squad a 2-0 lead after he found the back of the net with ease just 15 minutes before the half. Crossfire Redmond would level the match before the halftime whistle blew.

In the second half, FC Motown and Crossfire Redmond battled some more but it was the home squad who came away with the victory after scoring another pair in the second stanza. Catania was able to set up his teammate to tally another assist.

After their first finals appearance in 2018 fell short, FC Motown made good on their goal they made at the start of the season. They knew they had the talent to win it all and they followed through with it and were crowned the 2022 NPSL National Champions.
