#RUNMSOC Ties St. Mary's 2-2

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD | Franco Catania converted a pair of penalty kicks to draw St. Mary's College of Maryland, 2-2, in a game that ended early due to thunderstorms.  With the draw, the Scarlet Raiders move to 1-2-2 while St. Mary's College of Maryland moves to 1-1-3. 

Catania helped the Scarlet Raiders take a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute when he converted a penalty kick for his 3rd goal of the season. Rutgers-Newark would see themselves fall behind 2-1 before the end of the first half despite outshooting St. Mary's 10-7. 

The Scarlet Raiders came out with a purpose in the second half and earned another penalty kick which Catania converted for his 4th goal of the season. In the 63rd minute, the Scarlet Raiders earned their 3rd penalty kick of the game, however, this time, Liam Delone-Bellsey denied Catania to keep the game level at two. 

St. Mary's picked up the flurry of attacks against the Scarlet Raiders but Christian Andrach was ready and made three saves to keep St. Mary's out of the goal. With a thunderstorm rolling in and suspending play the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The men will head to Scranton, PA to take on Marywood for another non-conference bout at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
