PITMAN, NJ | Rutgers-Newark senior forward Franco Catania has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the 4th time in his career and 2nd week in a row.
Catania added another NJAC Offensive Player of the Week award to his long list after scoring three goals in two games to bring his season tally to seven. On Wednesday, Catania scored a brace against Marywood in a 4-0 win before converting a penalty kick against New York University (NYU) in a 4-2 loss.
He continues to be the catalyst for the Scarlet Raiders offensively this season, picking up where he left off last year. His seven goals lead the NJAC, three more than the next closest and his 15 points are five more than 2nd place.
