Four Different #RUNMSOC Players Score in 4-0 Win Over Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ | Four different goal scorers powered the Scarlet Raiders past Centenary, 4-0, in their final tune-up before they open up New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play. The win bumps the Scarlet Raiders up to 3-3-2 while Centenary fell to 0-5-2. 

As a team, the Scarlet Raiders posted a robust 33 shots and put 13 of them on frame while Centenary recorded 14 (4) shots. Gerson Gonzalez-Quevedo gave the Scarlet Raiders their first tally of the game when he picked up a loose ball in the box before slamming it home 13 minutes into the contest. The Scarlet Raiders kept their foot on the pedal and took 18 shots in the opening stanza. 

The flood gates opening in the second half after the Scarlet Raiders took their 1-0 lead into the break. Much like the first half, Rutgers-Newark found the back of the net early on. Just 13 minutes into the half Chris Osorio-Rodriguez took a cross from Aslan Kat and pushed it past Andrew Tarkazikis. Kat then had the favor returned when Franco Catania fed him in the box for an easy tap in. 

One minute later, Catania created his own opportunity and beat Tarkazikis one-on-one to give the Scarlet Raiders a 4-0 victory.
