Dominant Offensive Performance Powers #RUNMSOC Past William Paterson

WAYNE, NJ | The Scarlet Raiders men's soccer squad won their third straight this evening in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) showdown against William Paterson, 4-0. The win bumps the Scarlet Raiders up to 5-3-2, 2-0 while the Pioneers drops to 3-5-1, 0-2.

Bryan Rodriguez tallied his first goal of the season 11 minutes into the NJAC contest against William Paterson. Pablo Moreno hit the corner kick which found Rodriguez in the box to open up the scoring ledger in the NJAC bout. Five minutes later, Moreno would record a goal of his own when 3x NJAC Player of the Week, Franco Catania slipped him a pass to beat William Paterson's goalkeeper.

The Scarlet Raiders were firing on all cylinders in the first half as they out shot the Pioneers 18(9)-0. Bukachevsky was busy the entire half and had to make seven saves during the Scarlet Raiders' offensive barrage. Leading the charge for the Scarlet Raiders was Catania who tallied seven shots in the opening half. Defensively, Rutgers-Newark was an impenetrable fortress as they dispelled any attack forming by the Pioneers.

Rutgers-Newark kept the pressure on in the second half, which led to another pair of goals. Chris Osorio-Rodriguez found the back of the net off of a pass from Gerson Gonzalez-Quevedo. The scoring didn't stop there as Ryan Caruso pushed the Scarlet Raiders' lead out to 4-0 when he converted a pass from Jake Milne. The offensive juggernaut that was the Scarlet Raiders tallied 27 shots with 14 on target while holding the Pioneers to just three shots.
