Catania Earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week

PITMAN, NJ | Rutgers-Newark senior forward Franco Catania has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the 3rd time in his career.

Catania scored two goals against Farmingdale College on Sunday in a 4-1 win and added an assist for a five-point day. He rebounded nicely after being held to just two shots and no goals in the 3-2 defeat to Babson the day before with eight shots against Farmingdale.

Catania is coming off of a stellar year in which he scored 20 goals and had five assists. That season he earned NJAC & ECAC Player of the Year.

On the season, Catania has 10 shots, eight on target, with five points.

Up Next: Catania and the Scarlet Raiders return to action on Wednesday, September 7 when they host Stevens Institute of Technology at 7:30 pm at Frederick Douglass Field.
