The loss dropped the Scarlet Raiders to 3-18, 1-13 while Stockton improved to 11-10, 6-8 with the win. The Scarlet Raiders were led by Sanaa Brodie's 17 points while Samiyah Horton and Aliyah Sanchez added 11 and 10, respectively. Ebony Odom Barnes led the team with 9 rebounds and Brodie used her speed to tally six steals. The Osprey's came out on fire against the Scarlet Raiders, going 4-for-10 from the floor while holding Rutgers-Newark to 0-for-2 in the opening four minutes of play. India Cross got Rutgers-Newark on the board when Horton dished the ball over to Cross at the top of the arc for a wide-open three. India Cross returned the favor just moments later to cut the lead down to three. The Scarlet Raiders' offense would only hit a free throw the remainder of the quarter as Stockton inflated their lead to 17-7 heading into the second. The Scarlet Raiders limited Stockton's output in the second stanza despite losing the offense rebound battle, 15-3. Rutgers-Newark cut the lead down to eight, however, the Osprey's cashed in from range as time expired to take an 11-point lead into the half. Out of the break, the Scarlet Raiders broke down Stockton's defense to cut the lead down to 9 heading into the final quarter of play. Aliyah Sanchez did her damage in the paint, while Horton found success from behind the arc as they led Rutgers-Newark in 3rd quarter points. In the fourth, each team continued to throw their best punch, however, they were met with a similar punch back. Rutgers-Newark would find the bottom of the net, behind a resurgence by Brodie to bring them within arm's reach. With time dwindling down, Stockton continued to convert their chances to close the door on the Scarlet Raiders' comeback hopes.
