Valencia, Howell, & Ettayebi Score to Topple Sarah Lawrence, 3-0

BRONXVILLE, NY | Three different Scarlet Raiders women's soccer players found the back of the net on Wednesday evening when the Scarlet Raiders toppled Sarah Lawrence, 3-0.

The Scarlet Raiders (3-3) took 13 shots and put five on frame while Sarah Lawrence (2-3) took 13 and put three on target. Leila Ettayebi led the team with six shots and found the back of the net for the first time this season alongside Tamia Howell. 

Viviana Valencia put the Scarlet Raiders up 1-0 late in the first half for her team leading second goal of the season. Two minutes into the second half, Howell inked her name in the stat sheet with her first goal of the season to put the Scarlet Raiders up 2-0 over the Gryphons. 

For the remainder of the game, the Scarlet Raiders dominated the pace of play and finally found their third marker with two minutes remaining. Ettayebi, the team leader in shots, found the back of the net for the first time this season and to secure the three points for Rutgers-Newark.

Rutgers-Newark returns to action on Saturday, September 16 when they travel to take on King's College.
