Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Rutgers-Newark Athletic Communications

Men's Soccer Draws Stockton, 1-1

GALLOWAY, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark men's soccer squad drew Stockton University on the road this evening, 1-1. 

Rutgers-Newark (2-4-3, 0-0-1) edged Stockton (4-0-3, 0-0-1) 13-6 in the shot category and 7-2 in corners. 

The Scarlet Raiders fell behind early as the Ospreys found their goal just four minutes into the game. Aiden Hoenisch hit it into the left corner off of a cross to give his team the lead. Rutgers-Newark kept the pressure on but didn't find their equalizer until the second half. Nicholas Gomez powered the ball into the back of the net off of a free kick by Jonah Dias to level play. 

Jake Milne registered one more shot for the Scarlet Raiders, however, his attempted would be stopped by net minder Brady Bartletta. 

The Scarlet Raiders return to action on Wednesday, September 27 when they host William Paterson University at 7:00 p.m.
