Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Rutgers-Newark Athletic Communications

Women's Soccer Falls to Clarkson, 2-0

DALLAS, PA | The Rutgers University-Newark women's soccer team lost 2-0 to Clarkson this afternoon in the first game of the Misericordia tournament. 

Rutgers-Newark (2-2) tallied three shots while Clarkson (3-0) finished the game with 19, putting 12 on frame. Katie McLaughlin finished her second game in a row with 10+ saves. 

The Scarlet Raiders were under pressure from the first whistle as Clarkson registered 11 shots in the first half and limited the Scarlet Raiders' opportunities. Despite the barrage by Clarkson, the Scarlet Raiders kept a clean sheet in the first half. 

Clarkson finally broke through in the second stanza in the 54th minute of the game to go up 1-0. They found their second of the game in the 79th and proceeded to keep the Scarlet Raiders off of the scoreboard. 

The Scarlet Raiders return to action on Sunday, September 10 where they will take on #5 Misericordia.
