Rutgers-Newark scored first when Nicole Tamario found the basket in the lane. Both teams traded buckets and the Raiders were hanging in as the scoreboard read 13-All. From there, Kean switched gears, held the Raiders to just two more points in the half, while it scored 11 more to jump out to a 24-15 advantage at the end of the opening quarter.
