Newark, NJ – Rutgers-Newark women's volleyball fell in straight sets to Montclair State on Thursday night inside The Golden Dome, dropping the match 25-13, 25-13, 25-17. The Scarlet Raiders faced a strong Red Hawks squad that came out fast in the opening set, hitting .375 to build an early lead that Rutgers-Newark couldn't recover from.

The Scarlet Raiders worked to adjust in the second set, but Montclair continued to apply pressure both at the net and from the service line. Rutgers-Newark's offense struggled to find consistency while the Red Hawks' attack remained efficient, allowing them to extend their advantage and take another 25-13 set win.

Rutgers-Newark showed resilience in the third frame, finding more rhythm offensively and improving their hitting to .238. Cyan Long led the way for the Scarlet Raiders with 11 kills and 8 digs, while Angelyse Orellana dished out 14 assists and Jaedyn Simba-Malasarte added 10 digs on the defensive end. Despite the late push, Montclair State closed strong to complete the sweep with a 25-17 victory.
