Langhorne, PA – The Rutgers–Newark cross country teams competed at the Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn University on Saturday. The Scarlet Raider men placed 15th overall with a total team time of 3:09:04.1. Carlos Gonzales Delgado led the way for Rutgers–Newark, finishing 54th individually with a time of 34:57.9 to pace the men's squad.
On the women's side, the Scarlet Raiders did not have enough runners to record a team score but still turned in strong individual performances. Angelyna Rodriguez led the effort with a 20th-place finish in 28:10.1, followed by Morganatic Mackres, who placed 25th with a time of 29:30.9.
The Scarlet Raiders will run again at the NJIT XC Invitational next Saturday, October 11th.
