PITMAN, NJ — Rutgers–Newark men's soccer earned three All-Conference selections as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its 2025 honors.
Junior forward Erick Cortes was named to the First Team All-NJAC for the second consecutive season, following another standout year for the Scarlet Raiders. Cortes led Rutgers–Newark with 14 goals and four assists for 32 points, finishing second among the league's top scorers. He also had four game-winning goals across the season.
Sophomore forward Ian Brown earned Second Team All-NJAC recognition after posting nine goals and three assists, establishing himself as a reliable attacking partner to Cortes. Brown's pace and finishing ability made him one of the breakout underclassmen in the conference. He led the Scarlet Raiders in goals in conference with four during the season, including two game winners against Rowan and Ramapo.
Senior midfielder Pablo Moreno received Honorable Mention All-NJAC honors. A steady veteran presence, Moreno appeared in all 19 matches, contributing five goals and seven assist. He led the Scarlet Raiders in assist during the season amd was tied for fifth in the conference in the category.
The trio's recognition highlights the continued rise of the Rutgers–Newark program under head coach Kevin East. With Cortes and Brown set to return, the Scarlet Raiders will look to build on this success and remain a force in the NJAC next fall.
