Kloss Makes All-NJAC Second Team

PITMAN, NJ | The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) has released their all-conference awards following the conclusion of regular season play this past Sunday. After a breakout rookie year, the Scarlet Raiders' second baseman was recognized for her outstanding performance.

The short and speedy infielder quickly made a name for herself as a mainstay at the top of Rutgers-Newark's lineup. She made 31 starts in 32 appearances, scoring a team-high 25 runs thanks to her .365/.415/.424 slash line. Kloss' prowess as a runner made her a danger to any opposing team as soon as she reached first base.

Kristin was also a remarkably reliable defender. Her solid glove earned her 54 putouts with a .954 fielding percentage. Pitchers could consistently count on her to make plays both on the ground and in the air whenever the ball was hit to the right side of the infield.

Kristin Kloss is consistent as it gets. She flourished in her first year as a collegiate athlete, and no doubt has much to look forward to as a key player for Scarlet Raiders softball!
