PITMAN, N.J. — Rutgers University–Newark freshman setter Duncan Sturt was named New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Rookie of the Week for men's volleyball following an impactful weekend performance on Jan. 17.

Entering the match in the third set against Arcadia, Sturt immediately steadied the offense and helped shift momentum in Rutgers–Newark's favor. He finished the match with 25 assists, nine digs, and two blocks, guiding the Scarlet Raiders through the final three sets to secure the win.

Later that day, Sturt continued his strong play against MIT, recording 33 assists, six digs, and two blocks in a 3-1 setback. Despite the loss, the freshman setter consistently directed the offense and showcased poise beyond his years.
