Newark, NJ — Rutgers–Newark women's basketball fell to Rutgers–Camden, 87–54, on Wednesday night in NJAC action at The Golden Dome.
The Scarlet Raiders faced an uphill battle early as Camden controlled the tempo and built a 38-18 lead going into halftime. Rutgers–Newark struggled to find offensive rhythm in the opening half, allowing the visitors to extend their advantage.
Rutgers–Newark showed improved energy coming out of the break, putting together their most productive stretch of the game scoring 20 pointsin the third quarter. The Raiders moved the ball better and found success from beyond the arc, but Camden continued to answer on the other end to maintain separation.
Nicole Timario led Rutgers–Newark with a career-high 19 points and added five steals on the night. Quanajah Felder also finished in double figures, scoring 13 points,
The Scarlet Raiders will look to regroup as they prepare for their next NJAC matchup against Montclair State this weekend.
