NEWARK, N.J. — Rutgers University–Newark continued NJAC Saturday, falling to Stockton University, 78–51, inside The Golden Dome.
The Scarlet Raiders battled early and stayed within reach through much of the first half before Stockton carried a 39–31 lead into the locker room. Rutgers-Newark worked to cut into the deficit after halftime, but the visitors maintained control as the game progressed.
Raheem Murray led Rutgers-Newark with a game-high 16 points, providing a spark on the offensive end. Eli'sha Brown added seven points, five assists, four rebounds and 3 blocks on the day
Rutgers-Newark shot 37.3 percent from the field and continued to compete on both ends, but Stockton's efficiency and 46-25 rebounding edge proved to be the difference on the night.
The Raiders will look to bounce back as NJAC action continues next week with a trip to William Paterson on Wednesday.
