NOTES: Three-year letterman who has started 38 games at catcher or designated hitter… superlative .996 fielding percentage with just one error in 233 career chances.

JUNIOR (2012): Started in a dozen games while appearing in 20 contests… was flawless in the field with no errors in 68 chances while throwing out three runners… hit .216 while driving in six runs… hammered a pinch hit two-run homer to ignite a six-run sixth inning in a 10-8 win over TCNJ (4/8/12)… delivered the game-winning 2-run single during a decisive 6-run ninth inning in a 7-4 win over Whittier (3/18/12)… also had game-winning RBI single in a 5-0 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (3-18-12)… went two for four in a 5-3 win over Occidental (3/11/12)… went two for four in a 7-4 win over Baruch (3/27/12).

SOPHOMORE (2011):  Platoon starting catcher along with junior Anthony Palladino for the 23-19 Scarlet Raiders who shared the ECAC Metro Championship… played errorless ball behind the plate… posted 132 putouts and 22 assists while taking part in one double play… threw out a dozen runners in 28 steal attempts… allowed seven passed balls… started in 22 of 30 games that he appeared in… hit .222 with a .284 slugging percentage and a .315 on base percentage… had three doubles and a triple among his 18 hits and drove in nine runs…drew nine walks and was successful in his only stolen base attempt… hit safely in a dozen games with four multiple hit games… exploded for a single, two doubles and a triple to drive in four runs and score twice in a 16-13 win over Baruch (3/29/12)… caught both games of a doubleheader split against Wesleyan (3/26/11), going two for four with an RBI and a run scored in the Raiders’ 4-3 loss in the nightcap… went two for five with a double in an 8-7 win over Redlands (3/18/11)… went two for four with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in a 10-7 win over Penn State Abington (3/2/11).

FRESHMAN (2010): Reserve catcher who saw action in eight games, including five behind the plate… batted .111 and drew a walk to give him a .200 on-base percentage in 10 plate appearances… stroked a double and scored twice in a 20-9 win over Baruch (4/11).

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport all-star in baseball and wrestling at Wallkill Valley Regional HS… three-year all-league and four-year letterwinner in baseball… all area as senior after helping team to a state playoff berth… team also made state playoffs during his freshman year… posted a school-record 126 hits for his career… played in the NJSIAA Senior All-Star Game… in wrestling, was district champion as well as all-league and all-area.

PERSONAL: Undecided on major field of study at Rutgers-Newark... son of Ann and Ted Kasa… has two older brothers, Sean and Andrew, and one younger brother, Evan.
